13 | On April 14, 2022 at 9:40 am, Licensing Program Manager (LPM) E. Virrueta and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) J. Helton conducted an unannounced complaint inspection, and met with director Lisa O’Neal. It was alleged that staff did not keep facility free from pests, specifically that the facility still has fleas after receiving pest control services and children have been bit.
The director was interviewed on April 14, 2022 at 9:50 am and stated that the facility was aware of fleas a couple months ago and have taken measures to correct the issues. These steps include replacing flooring, vacuuming often, trimming bushes back, setting flea traps, adding granular treatment to deter cats from coming into the play yard, and adding additional flea pest control visits to the facility. Director stated that no fleas have been found in the traps and are questioning staff if any bites are found when changing diapers; staff are stating no bites have been seen.
