13 | On July 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Noah Wheeler conducted an unannounced complaint inspection, and met with facility director Lisa O’Neal. It was alleged that; Staff does not provide adequate supervision resulting in day care child biting other day care children. The facility director was interviewed on 04/18/2025 at 10:20 AM, and stated she denied the allegation and that a UIR was submitted on Tuesday 4/15/25 about the incident regarding the biting situation. C1 is biting multiple times throughout the day and was sent home on 4/15/25 after the third bite. C1 has a history of biting. If a teacher turns their head for two seconds that child will bite another child. DIR has informed staff to shadow C1 to ensure that C1 does not bite other children and will send the C1 home if C1 has bitten three times in one day. Four of staff (S1-S4) were interviewed on 07/14/2025 and they all stated the biting policy and how they work with the children to mitigate the biting. Staff stated they shadow and redirect as much as possible. Four parents (P1-P4) were interviewed on 05/05/2025. Three parents agree with the allegation stating they don’t feel there is adequate supervision of the children and that their children come home with bite marks multiple times per week. One parent stated they have no issue with the facilities supervision and have never had any cause for concern. |
