13 | On 11/01/24 at 4:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nicolette Cunningham conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with facility representative Tiffany Chapman. It was alleged that a lack of supervision occurred when staff had a conversation with their backs turned to a group of children.
The director was interviewed on 8/27/24 and stated she monitors the classrooms throughout the day and has not observed staff turn their back to children and have a conversation. The director provided a copy of the personnel report (LIC500) and staff handbook which addresses line of sight supervision. The director reported that no staff have received disciplinary action within the last three months.
Three staff, three parents, and three children were interviewed on 10/8/24 and 10/14/24. Three parents stated they do not have concerns of staff providing adequate supervision. Staff interviews provided conflicting information as to how staff provide direct supervision at all times. Children stated that staff are available to help, and they feel safe at the facility. Children also reported that teachers talk with other teachers, but it is unknow if the teachers are supervising children while talking with other teachers.
