32 | Preschoolers will be in the Main BUILDING in Room SLCA. There are 2 sinks and 2 toilets in the room. A preschool capacity worksheet was completed during the visit and there is enough indoor space (1078 square ft) for the requested number of preschoolers. Based on the above, the maximum capacity of preschoolers is 20.
Shared play yard. The facility currently has one play yard with no climbing structures. They are requesting a waiver for infants, toddlers, and preschool to use this yard. A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit to measure the play yard measures 2,389.75 square feet which is not enough square footage for the full capacity.
*Proposed play yard. (In the future the facility plans to install a separate preschool yard and a combined infant/toddler yard/ applicant said this will be completed approximately September of 2024)
The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There are no climbing structures. There is only a blacktop surface and a pop-up shade structure. A safe surface for the infants to crawl will be required. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises.
The poisons are locked in a storage room. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children.
Applicant, Tessa Buell was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
