On October 17, 2024 at 12:20pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Chavez conducted a follow-up complaint inspection to the facility and met with Director Erica Mejia. It was alleged that staff do not prevent inappropriate interactions between day care children, specifically, a child engaged in inappropriate behavior by thrusting their pelvis onto another child’s face.

Director Mejia denied the allegation and stated that she did not have knowledge of any child thrusting their pelvis onto another child's face while in care.

Interviews conducted on 8/27/2024 with Staff #1, Staff #2, and Staff #3 between 12:44pm - 12:57pm denied knowing of any child thrusting their pelvis onto another child’s face while in care.

One out of 7 children interviewed on 10/2/2024 between 11:19am - 12:26pm confirmed an inappropriate interaction with a child in care.

One out of 3 parents interviewed on 9/25/2024 between 1:09pm – 2:52pm stated they had knowledge of the incident.

Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.

An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with Director Erica Mejia. Appeal rights were provided.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
