25 | An unannounced inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cindy Castro. LPA met with Licensee (L1), Geneva Gomez. There are currently three adults living in the home. L1 was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During the inspection the home was toured inside and outside. Licensee and Assistant were supervising 10 children and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The "off limits" areas of the home are the master bedroom, master bath, two bedrooms, garage and back deck and were made inaccessible by means of door locking devices. The facility’s operating hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The children use the front yard as the outdoor play area, and it is completely fenced. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed on the premises. The home appears to be clean and orderly and was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. Items which could pose a danger to children (such as detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Licensee stated that poisons are locked in a shed on the side of home. LPA observed a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The licensee conducted an emergency drill within the past six months; last drill was documented on 06/12/24. The roster of children in care was reviewed and current. L1 stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home and none were observed during today's inspection. Six child files were reviewed and current. Facility file was reviewed and current. CPR/First Aid for L1, expires on 01/28/26. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training expires 01/25/26. Continued LIC 809-C
