25 | An annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Cindy Castro and Elpidia Hernandez Torres. A review of staff records on 10/18/2023 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. There are currently three adults living in the home.
During today’s inspection the home and grounds were toured. The licensee was supervising five children, and operating within the licensed capacity and ratio requirements. No children were observed left in any parked vehicle. The facility’s operating hours are 05:00AM to 05:00PM, Monday–Friday. The floor plan submitted by the licensee was reviewed and verified. The off-limits areas of the home are two bedrooms, and the garage. They were made inaccessible by child safety gate and door locking mechanisms. The home was clean and orderly, and was at a comfortable indoor temperature. There were safe toys and equipment available for children. There is a working telephone in the home. The licensee has current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expire on 10/07/2025. Licensee's AB1207 Mandated Reporter training certificate expires on 06/30/2024. Last fire drill conducted was on 05/15/2023. Items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, etc.) were stored out of the reach of children. The licensee reported poisons are not store on the premises. The regulation that poisons are locked with a key or combination lock was reviewed. The fireplace has been made inaccessible with a shelf. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher, rated at least 2A10BC, in the home. The licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the home, and none were observed during today's inspection. The children use the back yard as the outdoor play area and it is fully fenced. There were no pools or other bodies of water observed in the yard. Five children's records were reviewed at 11:27AM; required emergency information was observed to be on file. Two children need immunization record transcribed onto blue CDPH 286 immunization forms and one child was missing updated immunization record a deficiency was issued. Continued on LIC809-C |
