25 | A Pre-licensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Leticia Rosales-Meza. The applicant is Spanish speaking. The applicant is requesting a license for a capacity of 8 children. Services will be available Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM-6:00 PM. The applicant understands that 24hr consecutive care is prohibited. The residence is a four bedroom two bathroom, single level home. The applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During the pre-licensing inspection, LPA provided technical assistance to Applicant related to COVID-19 guidelines and self-assessment.
The floor and yard plans are verified. The children will have access to the living room, kitchen, family room, and hallway bathroom. The "off limits" areas include the home's four bedrooms, one bathroom, laundry room and garage. These areas have been made inaccessible by door knob slipcovers, and key locked doors. The home appears to be clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during childcare hours. There is a working telephone in the home. The sharp knives, cleaning supplies, medicines, will be stored out of the reach of children. There were no firearms and ammunition in the home at the time of this inspection. Applicant states poisons are stored in the outdoor shed, using a key lock. The pellet stove in the living room is barricaded by a wrought iron gate. Applicant states does not use the pellet stove at all. First Aid supplies will be maintained at the facility. The children in care will have access to age appropriate toys and equipment. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and a fire extinguisher rated at least 2A10BC. The children will use the backyard as the outdoor play and is fully fenced. There is a small fence that divides the other half of the backyard which is "off limits". There is no spa, pool, pond, or fountain on the premises. None shall be added without prior approval of the Licensing agency.
