25 | A subsequent case management inspection was conducted to the facility by Licensing Program (LPA), Cindy Castro to follow up on an increase capacity application received by the Department on 08/27/24. LPA met with Brenda Norman, Licensee (L1). The licensee is requesting a capacity of 14. Increase Capacity was not granted on 09/12/24 because Licensee was utilizing converted garage into playroom. Per fire clearance granted on 08/22/24, garage shall not be used for any daycare purpose.
During today's inspection 09/18/24, LPA inspected garage which revealed that it is key locked. Licensee stated that she moved materials out and is not utilizing the garage for any daycare purposes. Licensee stated that all care and supervision is being provided in main home and backyard as outdoor play area. The Licensee understands that until a building and planning permit is granted and clearance from Building and Fire Department is obtained the garage shall not be used for any daycare purposes. Licensee also stated she understands that an immediate civil penalty can be issued for fire clearance violations.
The increase capacity to 14, as a Large Family Childcare Home is granted as of today, 09/18/24.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee. The were no violation(s) of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22; Division 12 cited during today’s visit.
