25 | A Pre-licensing inspection visit was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melchisedeck Augustin. The applicant requested a license for capacity of 14, and services will be provided Monday - Friday; 6:00 a.m. – 6:00pm, and Saturday by appointment only. On 09/14/23, the Vallejo Fire Department granted the facility a fire clearance to operate at a capacity of 14. The applicant understands that childcare must be provided in the "primary" residence of the applicant. The residence is a single story four bedroom/two bath home. There are three adults and two minor(s) living in the home. All minors residing in the home must be fingerprinted within 30 days of reaching their 18th birthday and obtain a TB clearance.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The floor and yard plans are verified. Bedrooms # 1, 2 & 4, bathroom #2, laundry room, closet which housed the furnace, and kitchen are off limits to the children. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of plastic doorknob covers and children’s safety gates. The on-limit areas consist of bedroom #3, living and dining areas, bathroom #1 in the hallway, and the backyard. The home appears to be clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during childcare hours. There is a working telephone.
The sharp knives, medicines, are stored out of the reach of children. The knobs on the stove and the electrical wall outlets were inaccessible. (Continue to LIC 809-C)
