25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with licensee Symone Williams to conduct a change of location visit. The licensee relocated from 690 Catalina Circle, Vallejo to this location. The application for the location change was received by the department on February 12, 2025. The licensee has been in communication with LPA Ouye and the Vallejo Fire Inspector regarding the move. The fire inspector conducted the inspection for the approved fire clearance yesterday (February 13, 2025) and required the licensee to install the pull station to a certain location in the home and to install a smoke detector in another location. She has completed the fire safety items and the fire inspector is returning today (February 14, 2025) to verify and approve the fire clearance as a large FCCH. The prior license at the Catalina Circle will be closed when the new license is issued.
The home is a single story, three bedroom/3 bathroom home. Symone Williams was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The licensee provided proof of control of property.
The floor and yard plans are verified. The children will have access to the family room, dining room/daycare area and hallway bathroom. The "off limits" areas include the home's three bedrooms, the kitchen, laundry room and storage room. These areas will be made inaccessible by doorknob slipcovers, and/or child safety gates. The home appears to be clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during childcare hours. There is a working telephone in the home. The sharp knives, cleaning supplies, medicines, will be stored out of the reach of children. |
