25 | A change of location inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leticia Rosales-Meza. The applicant is Spanish Speaking. The applicant was previously licensed at 730 Blair Place, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. The applicant is requesting a license for a capacity of 14 children. Services will be available Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM-6:30 PM. The applicant understands that 24hr consecutive care is prohibited. The residence is a two bedroom one bathroom, single level home. There are currently two adults living in the home. The applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The floor and yard plans are verified. The applicant provided proof of control of property. The children will have access to the entire home; living room, two bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom. The "off limits" areas of the home is the garage/storage. This area will be made inaccessible by a door knob cover. The home appears to be clean and orderly at this time and will remain so during child care hours. There is a working telephone in the home. The sharp knives, cleaning supplies, medicines, will be stored out of the reach of children. The Licensee states there are no firearms and ammunition stored on the premises. Licensee states there are no poisons in the home. The requirement that poisons be stored in a space locked with a key lock/combination lock is reviewed.There are two wall heaters back to back, one in the living room and one in the kitchen. Mrs. Valencia states they do not work, the pilot is shut off. First Aid supplies will be maintained at the facility. The children in care will have access to age appropriate toys and equipment. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher rated at least 2-A 10:BC. The children will use a small portion of the huge backyard as the outdoor play area and it is completely fenced. There is a small divider which separates the other part of the backyard. There is no spa, pool, pond, or fountain on the premises. None shall be added without prior approval of the Licensing agency.
