On 11/06/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anita Tristan conducted an unannounced complaint inspection to provide findings for the above allegations. LPA was met by Director, Laura Micheletti. LPA reviewed the allegations, and toured the facility, inside and outside. During today’s visit LPA observed 2 classrooms with 18 children with 4 staff.

Based upon information gathered through interviews conducted and file review it was determined that the facility does not ensure a qualified director is present during operating hours. It was determined that during the month of August there were times that there was not a qualified director or assistant director on site while the director was out of the office.

Based on LPA observations 3 out of the 4 classrooms had unlocked cabinets with hazardous chemicals accessible to day care children. Chemicals in reach of children included Febreze bathroom spray, hand sanitizers, Lysol, bleach cleaning spray, swifter wet cloths, and Clorox wipes. Based on interviews conducted LPA was informed that cabinets in the classrooms do not have locks on them and there are times that the cabinet in the main lobby that contains chemicals and cleaning supplies have been left unlocked and unattended.

Staff immediately removed hazardous items out of the reach of children in care.

Based upon information gathered the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegations are found to be substantiated.

Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, these deficiencies are being cited on the attached LIC 9099D.

An exit interview conducted with Director, Laura Micheletti. A copy of this report and Appeal Rights were provided and discussed.

A Notice of Site Visit Form was posted to parent's board and must remain posted for 30 days.
