25 | On 1/27/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valentin Hernandez and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon met with Coordinator of Early Childhood Services, Teresa Reyna. LPA conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA toured the facility, and a census was taken.
The purpose of today's unannounced inspection was to inspect the TK playground. Licensee would like to share the TK outside playground with licensed preschool children. This play yard will be labeled "C" on the updated outside facility sketch.
Per Teresa Reyna, an updated facility sketch with outdoor schedule has been provided during today's inspection. LPM requested an updated outdoor facility sketch.
During the inspection of play yard "C,” LPA observed three items: On the playground there are two features that cannot be fenced in. Per Teresa Reyna, per fire marshal, the fire hydrant and accessory (red structure that stands roughly about 4 feet tall - see attached picture). LPA observed four low cylinder capped pipes next to the cylinder block fence. LPA was informed that these pipes are conduits that have never been wired. Teresa Reyna was informed by Maintenance Supervisor, Arturo Simenel, that these pipes were to be used for another building that was not constructed. LPA and LPM informed Teresa Reyna that staff are to provide visual supervision to ensure children do not climb on these 4"to 6" wide pipes.
