25 | On 05/25/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Julie Baptista conducted an unannounced Case Management visit at facility. LPA was greeted by Director Brenda Sanchez and a census was taken.
LPA toured the four preschool classrooms and the outdoor play area. The wooden doors on all the classrooms are light weight and when opened remain in place where they are placed. The wooden doors do not have springs or other self-closing equipment. LPA tested several doors and observed that the wooden door would remain open and were easy to move. There is toilet facilities in the preschool classroom which the small classrooms utilize. The preschool has exclusive use of the men's restroom in the church office approved during pre-licensing. The large preschool classroom does use the men's restroom in the main church office. The preschool staff escort the children to and from this restroom. The door leading into the church office is kept locked and staff have a key to unlock this door when guiding children to the restroom. This door is glass with a metal frame and is a double door with the right side kept locked. The door can be pushed open easily and left open using a stopper that is latched to the ground. When the door is opened and not propped on the stopper it will self close. LPA observed glass door will close properly on its own. The protocol per Director is for staff to unlock the door, guide the children to the restroom and remain with them until they are guided out the office door and back to the preschool area.
Per Chapter 1, Division 12, Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations no deficiencies are observed today.
