The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area for preschool children. Chain link fencing is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space for the preschool is approximately 5,494 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 30 preschool children. Shade is provided via a shade structure. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the preschool playground. LPA did not observe a manufacturers sticker on the equipment. The climbing structure appeared to be age appropriate for preschool children ages 2-5. Director was advised to obtain an owner’s manual for the play structure. The climbing structure is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by wood chips. Drinking water is available via water pitchers. Children bring their sippy cups outside for water consumption during outdoor activities. Water fountains were also observed in the outdoor area.
