On 05/13/2021, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Juvenal Moctezuma & Jessika Thompson conducted an announced prelicensing inspection and met with Owner, Alyssa Ceballos. LPAs explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located on 7131 W. Pershing Ct in Visalia, CA. The applicant is requesting a School Age program with 45 School Age Children. This program will operate year round from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. This program will utilize the whole building which is compiled of 3 separate areas including the indoor play structure (Jungle Gym).

The center will provide breakfast, a morning snack, and afternoon snack. Alyssa stated that parents are responsible to bring their children lunch which can be stored in their designated classrooms. There is a microwave in the kitchen that can be used in case food needs to be warmed up. Alyssa stated they have a plan in place in case a parent forgets to bring their child lunch. There is hot running water in the kitchen. Staff will utilize the bathroom located in the preschool building 7137 W Pershing Ct. Ill children will be isolated in the site supervisors office and will use the staff bathroom when ill. The staff lounge/kitchen area will remain closed & locked during operating hours. The cleaning items and toxins are kept in the kitchen which is remained closed and locked during operating hours.

The School age area had age appropriate toys and was observed to be clean & free of toxins. The cleaning items & medications will be stored in the kitchen. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. There is at least one working carbon monoxide in the center. LPAs observed plenty of tables & chairs to meet the requested capacity.

The following items must be completed prior to issuing a license by 05/27/2021.

Inside Day-care:

· Grab sliding door chain and pin to wall so it doesn't hang to low.
· Anchor shelves used for children's belongings to wall to prevent from tipping over
· Get toilet screw covers for all 3 toilets.
· Rearrange area to get enough space for the play area and make sure its separated by a gate.
· Obtain Financial Information Form from Bank.
· Get Playground Specifications to verify ages
· Fix ripped parts in jungle gym

Pending a final file review and completion of above items, a recommendation will be made to license the above facility for a capacity of 45 school age children.

Parents come in through the lobby to sign in/out their child. Staff are doing wellness checks & temperature checks every morning during drop off & pick up. Children will be able to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer before going into the center.

Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Alyssa. The total inside school age area measured to an approximate 2,210 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity. Alyssa stated that she will rearrange the school age area to allow more room for the play area and will make sure there is adequate storage space available for children's belongings in each classroom/section.

Toys and equipment appeared to be age appropriate. There are two bathrooms, 1 for boys which has 1 toilet, 1 urinal, & 1 sink. The girls bathroom has 2 toilets & 1 sink. There is another sink in the school age area. The school age children each have their own water bottle. There are also disposable cups if needed.

The approximate play area/Jungle Gym square footage for the school age area is 1,451 square feet which will only accommodate 19 School Age Children at a time. Alyssa stated that she will rearrange the school age space to try and add more square footage to the play area and still keep the requested capacity - 45. Alyssa also stated that she will alternate her classroom play times so no more than 23 children are playing at the same time if the square footage allows for that capacity. A waiver will be submitted. LPA observed that the Jungle Gym stated its for children ages 4 and above and appeared to be in good condition. LPAs reminded Alyssa to provide adequate supervision at all times.

A fire clearance for a total of 90 children was received and granted by the City Of Visalia Fire Department on 12/18/2020. A new Fire Clearance will be sent out to meet the new changes being made and to match the capacity that the applicant is requesting.

This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS.
