25 | On 03/21/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Meche Rosales conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee Norma. Licensee is Spanish Speaking and LPA Rosales assisted with interpretation. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:00am-6:00pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, nook, bathroom, living room and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. Licensee states room #4 will no longer be used for day care. Licensee made update on current sketch and will send new sketch to LPA via email. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by doorknob spinners.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Items in the backyard accessible to children: Motor oil, shovels (2), rusted nails/tools on top of high toolbox, fence boards with nails, water hose, extension cord and side gate needs repair to close. Immediately removed all items (Motor oil, shovels (2), rusted nails, water hose and extension cord) and put them in a lock shed. Licensee stated that she will make sure backyard is ready before the day care children arrive in the morning by walking the entire backyard. LPA advised licensee to take care of all the items above and LPA will return to home after POC due date 04/04/2024 to follow up on all corrections. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
