25 | On 1/16/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Theresa Marquez conducted an unannounced Inspection and was met by licensee Eloisa Sanchez. Licensee is Spanish/English Speaking. Licensee's relative/assistant was also present. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM. This is a two story home, the upstairs area will be off-limits to the day-care children.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed only the downstairs day care room/master bedroom and bathroom will be used for providing care and is accessible to day care children. Off limits common rooms and bedrooms will be inaccessible by the use of plastic door knob covers and child proof safety gates.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Licensee has 1 dog that is inaccessible to children. Licensee is aware of child safety around pets and accepts responsibility for any action taken by pets. There is no swimming pool or bodies of water and no firearms on the premises. Firearms and ammunition were properly stored and locked separately
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 10/6/2022. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 10/19/2024. A review of records indicates that licensee and her assistant have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).
