25 | On 10/16/24, at 7:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Three Year Required inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Janet Danielsen, Director of the CCC. LPA explained the purpose and nature of the inspection. The facility is located on the grounds of Pleasant Valley Bible Church of Camarillo and Pleasant Valley Christian School. The Preschool operates Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM. The facility uses five classroom for child care services; Dino Room (2.9 to 3 years of age), Duck Room (3 years of age), Monkey Room (4 years of age), Owl Room (Pre Kindergarten age) and the Lion Room (Transitional Kindergarten age). At the time of inspection, LPA observed 51 children on site, along with 10 teachers (cleared and associated). The CCC's Director is assisting with the care and supervision of children on site.
The CCC is clean and orderly. LPA observed required licensing forms and documents posted at the front entry of the CCC. The CCC has posted schedules of activities as well as menus affixed to classroom walls. LPA observed the CCC's Sign In/Out forms at the entry of each classroom. The forms contained the arrival and departure times of children in care and well as the signatures of the children's authorized representatives. Each classrooms of the CCC has age appropriate equipment and furnishings available for children in care. LPA also observed waste receptacles throughout the CCC with thigh fitting lids. The CCC has multiple carbon monoxide detectors throughout the center. At 8:41 AM, a carbon monoxide detector was tested in the Owl Room and found to be operable.
The CCC uses a total of three restrooms (one attached to two classrooms and two near the CCC's office). All restrooms are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC has a refrigerator in the church's portion of the building. The refrigerator is capable of storing food and beverages for children in care. Lunches and snacks are provided by the parents of children in care. The CCC has supplemental food on site for children should the need arise. Children also have the ability to receive (purchase) lunch from the neighboring school. The CCC has available drinking water for children inside and outside of the facility.
