On 8/26/23 at 9:55 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted a Required Annual inspection. LPA met with Director Shannon Meyerson and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Director toured the interior and exterior of the facility. There were 40 children in care and 7 qualified teachers providing care at the time of inspection.

Licensing required notices were posted prominently at the front entrance and inside the front office. The Facility consists of 4 upstairs classrooms and 1 downstairs classroom. The upstairs classrooms and down stairs classroom have their own designated bathrooms with sufficient stalls and sinks to accommodate the children in care. The facility is currently using 4 of the 5 classrooms for child care purposes. The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture available to the children. This facility uses an electronic sign in sheet.

The outdoor playground is completely enclosed by a fence. The playground has an ample amounts of shade available and age appropriate toys/equipment. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. LPA reminded Director that the falls zones in the playground area must have sufficient cushioning.

LPA observed and reviewed the posted lunch menu. The center provides AM,PM snack and lunch. The last emergency drill was conducted on 8/5/2023.

A sampling of children's files were reviewed and were found current and . A sampling of staff records was reviewed. At least one staff present has current First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 8/30/2024.

Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 12/28/2023

Director Shannon Meyerson was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
