32 | CCCs constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
LPA observed a facility menu and required licensing forms posted inside the main lobby of the CCC. LPA observed waste receptacles with tight fitting covers throughout the CCC. The CCC uses a manual process for Sign In/Out. LPA reviewed Sign In/Out information which notes the arrival and departure time of children, along with an entry from the children's authorized representatives/parents.
The CCC's outdoor activity area is separated for children of differing ages. The areas are fully enclosed, and the entry/exit gates are secured. LPA observed age-appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area. The toys/play equipment are in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The play structures in the activity areas have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls and there is ample shade provided by shade sails. No bodies of water were observed on site.
LPA reviewed staff and children's records. The children’s records were complete and found to contain emergency contact information, immunization records, and other required licensing documents. Staff records were reviewed and found to be current with Mandated Reporter training, CPR/First Aid training, and other required licensing forms. LPA notes the last fire drill was completed on 08/29/2025. Director informed LPA no firearms or ammunition is stored on site.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
