Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
The CCC's infant outdoor playground area is enclosed by fencing and separate from the preschool playground areas. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secured. LPA observed age-appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area which are in good condition and the footing in the area is varied. The play structures in the playground areas have adequate cushioning material to absorb falls. There is shade available by means of canopy in the infant playground. No bodies of water were observed on site. LPA observed waste receptacles with tight fitting covers at the CCC.
A sample of staff and children’s records were reviewed. The children’s records are complete and found to contain emergency contact information, immunization records, 15-minute sleep logs, and other required licensing forms. Staff records were reviewed and contain Mandated Reporter training, staff qualifications, and other required licensing documents. LPA notes the most recent emergency drill at the CCC was completed in October of 2025. LPA verified the most recent emergency/disaster drill was conducted in October of 2025. Director noted no firearms or ammunition are stored on site.
