25 | On September 11, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA's) Susana Martinez and David Roman conducted an unannounced case management-other inspection. LPA's met with program coordinator, Jacqueline Serrano and Assistant Director, Jessica Cruz advised them of the purpose for the inspection. LPA's toured the facility inside and outside, at the time of the inspection there were 70 children in care of 11 staff.
While initiating a complaint on 05/07/2024, it was disclosed by the center that a child was left unattended in a room upstairs while the rest of the classroom was downstairs. Child was found in the upstairs room by a facility staff. Child was inside the room with the lights off. Although the child was not injured, they were found in distress and unsupervised. The center failed to report the incident to the Department.
The center staff also stated that a new director has been appointed at the beginning of September. LPA's reminded assistant director and program coordinator to report a change of child care center director or designee to the Department within 10 days of the change.
During today's inspection two type B citations are being issued and can be found on the attached 809-D regarding the following Title 22 regulations:
Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision 101229(a)(1).
