25 | On November 25, 2024 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Carone made an unannounced visit to conduct a Annual/Random Inspection. LPA met with licensee, Aurora Iza and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the home. Licensee and Assistant were caring for 6 children at the time of the inspection. Licensee is requesting a capacity increase to a large license. Fire clearance was granted on 11/15./2024 with no restrictions.
The home is a 4-bedroom, 3--bathroom, 1-story home. The licensee uses the living room, dining area, kitchen, 2-bedrooms, 2- bathroom and the backyard for childcare. The garage (converted into 2 bedrooms) and rented room (closed off) are off limits and are inaccessible to children in care. The kitchen has a child safety gate to keep area inaccessible. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, teaching materials, and furnishings available for children in care in good condition and free of hazards. Licensee has a secured fence in the backyard. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed mounted in the kitchen with a purchase date of 07/07/2024. Licensee is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. Licensee states that there are no firearms and ammunition in the home.
LPA observed the home to be orderly. No bodies of water were observed on site. Cleaning compounds are stored under kitchen sink with a child lock on the doors. The bathrooms to be used for children in care were observed to be clean. LPA observed a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm detector in the hallway and in the bedrooms.
Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 03/24/2026. AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate is valid until 11/19/2026. Licensee last completed an emergency disaster drill on 06/21/2024. All required forms including Notification of Parent's Rights are prominently posted for parent's or authorized representatives to view. A roster of children in care was observed current and complete.
