NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes met with Licensee Representative (LR) Shannon McClarin for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee is remodeling the outdoor activity space. Licensee is not making any changes to the licensed capacity. The preschool program is located at Woodland United Methodist Church. The program operates Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one outdoor area on the property. AS observed that the outdoor activity space is still under construction. LR stated that half of the yard will be fenced off using a temporary orange safety fencing so that the children can utilize the front section of the playground that has completed construction. LR stated that the remaining construction located at the end of the playground where the play structures and storage shed are located should be completed in two to three weeks. The overall outdoor play area is fenced with a chain link fence that is at least four feet tall. AS observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. The play structure includes a safety label, which designates use for children 2 to 5 years old. AS did not observed cushioning under the play structure. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are shaded areas supplied by trees. AS measured the outdoor activity space. The outdoor play area contains a total of 4,117 square feet, which will accommodate the current licensed capacity of 20 preschool children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Report continues on LIC809-C.

LR was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LR was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Representative (LR), Shannon McClarin.

The following items are required before AS will approve use of the entire outdoor activity space:

1. Photos of the temporary outdoor play space area that the children will be utilizing which includes the orange safety fencing
2. Photos of proper cushioning beneath the play structures
3. Photos of the completed fencing and entry gate
