25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia met with Licensee, Jhineska Martinez for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee has applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. There were 3 children present at the time of inspection. LPA verified the annual fees are current. Fire clearance was granted by West Sacramento Fire Department on 09/21/2023
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. .
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA tour area and observe no hazardous items accessible for the children. Off-limits areas are laundry room, garage, room 1 and 2, master bedroom/bathroom. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors, baby gates and supervision. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care.
Current in-person EMSA pediatric CPR and First Aid certification was verified and Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter certification was verified. The CPR will expire 12/2023 and Licensee was reminded that the Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter certification will need to be renewed every 2 years.
