25 | On 10/21/21 at 9:15AM, a Required Annual inspection was made to the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Mikah Martinez and Kirk Marks. LPA met with Director Heidi Harrison. The facility file was reviewed prior to this inspection. A review of the personnel report on file indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility’s operating hours are 6:45-5:30, Mon-Fri. At 9:25AM the facility was toured inside and outside, and the floor and yard plan submitted by the licensee were verified. There are no pools or bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or other weapons stored on the premises. The items which could pose a danger to children (such as disinfectants, cleaning solutions and medications) are inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in a cabinet in the main kitchen area of the preschool to be shared with other classrooms. The furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of hazards, and age appropriate. The playground is free of hazards, and the play equipment is cushioned with bark and grass to absorb falls. The toilets and sinks are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The kitchen/food prep area is clean and free of litter and rodents. The floors are clean and safe. Cold foods and beverages are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees or less. Trash cans have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is available to infants indoors via water bottle and drinking dispenser and outdoors in the same fashion. The facility was free of flies, insects and rodents. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detector. Changing tables have a washable, padded surface. The facility has cribs and mat/cots for each napping infant. The cribs are free of loose items. Sleeping infants are visually supervised at all times, and staff conduct physical checks every 15 minutes. 15 minute checks are documented and kept in the infant’s file. Infants up to 12 months are placed on their backs for sleep, and no infants are swaddled. During today's inspection, staffing ratios were being met and 14 children were being supervised by 4 teachers/aides. The facility was operating within the licensed capacity. Infants are under visual supervision at all times. At least one staff member present during the visit (S1) possessed current CPR and First Aid certifications.
